Tom Holland and Zendaya’s Next Spider-Man Movie Unveils Title at CinemaCon

Tom Holland is suiting up once more.
Sony Pictures has officially announced Spider-Man: Brand New Day as the latest installment in the blockbuster franchise, with Holland, 28, reprising his role as Marvel’s iconic web-slinger. Zendaya returns as MJ Jones-Watson, alongside familiar faces Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan. Adding to the excitement, newcomer Sadie Sink has also joined the cast.

Sony confirmed at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas that the film will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
Holland made a virtual appearance during the presentation, joining the studio’s showcase at Caesars Palace to tease the future of Sony’s ever-expanding Spider-Man universe.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Brand New Day picks up in the aftermath of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, a multiversal spectacle that saw Holland share the screen with past Peter Parker actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, along with legendary villains played by Willem Dafoe, Jamie Foxx, and Alfred Molina.

The film’s title nods to a pivotal 2008 comic book arc that redefined Spider-Man’s trajectory following the dramatic events of One More Day in 2007.

Holland’s Peter Parker was last seen making an excruciating sacrifice—erasing himself from the memories of MJ, Ned, and the world—after fracturing the multiverse alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.

Last October, Holland confirmed his fourth solo Spider-Man film was deep in development. Speaking on The Tonight Show, he told Jimmy Fallon that cameras would roll in the summer of 2025. “Everything’s locked in. We’re nearly there,” he said. “Super exciting. I can’t wait.”
Beyond the Marvel realm, Holland and Zendaya—who got engaged in January—are currently filming The Odyssey, a Christopher Nolan-directed epic starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson. Meanwhile, Zendaya is set to return for HBO’s Euphoria and has been spotted filming The Drama alongside Pattinson.

At CinemaCon, Sony also unveiled updates on its ambitious slate, including Sam Mendes’ four-part Beatles biopic and Karate Kid: Legends. Additionally, the studio confirmed that the animated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will arrive on June 4, 2027.

Brand New Day is set to release just months after the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, which lands in theaters May 1, 2026.
